Referrals Terms and Conditions

Discover the rules and guidelines for earning rewards when you invite friends, family, or new businesses to join the ZeroDegrees community through our referral program

These Referral Terms and Conditions (“Referral Terms”) govern your participation in our Referral Program. To participate in our Referral Program, Members must agree to these Referral Terms and to our Terms of Service, Payment Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and other terms that apply to your use of the ZeroDegrees Platform (collectively, “ZeroDegrees Terms”). Capitalized terms used in these Referral Terms and not defined here have the meanings given to them in the ZeroDegrees Terms.

1. Overview

Our Referral Program allows participating Referring Members to earn rewards when they refer friends or family members to join the ZeroDegrees community. Referred Members may join (i) as a general Member, by creating a ZeroDegrees account that complies with our Terms of Service or (ii) as a Service Provider, by subscribing to one of our plans for Professionals or Organisations and publishing a listing for their business that complies with our Terms of Service.

All Referred Members must be new, first time members of the ZeroDegrees Platform. Referral rewards will not be granted (i) for Referred Members who had previously registered with ZeroDegrees or (ii) for listings created by current or former Service Providers or (iii) for referrals where the Service Provider listing has the same address as the Referring Member.

2. Referral Link

To refer a friend or family member you must share your Referral Link with them. We currently have three ongoing campaigns for: (i) general Members, (ii) Professionals and (iii) Organisations. To find your Referral Links, go to Referrals in your ZeroDegrees account, and from there you can share the most appropriate link with your friends and family so that you can keep track of your campaigns.

When you refer a friend or family member and they click on your Referral Link, they will be redirected to the ZeroDegrees homepage and a popup message will appear with your profile photo, name and link to your ZeroDegrees profile page, which confirms that they have been referred by you.

Referred Members must have cookies enabled in their browsers. The referral tracking cookie for your Referral Link will expire 180 days after the Referred Member clicks on it, assuming they do not clear their browser cookies before then. If the Referred Member clears their browser cookies, they will need to click on your Referral Link again, so that a new referral tracking cookie is set up on their browser.

A Referred Member may only use one Referral Link. If a Referred Member receives several Referral Links from different Referring Members, only the last Referral Link used by the Referred Member will be credited with the Referral.

3. Rewards

When you refer a member and they register for a new account with ZeroDegrees using your Referral Link, you as the Referring Member and the Referred Member will each earn 1 Zocialite point. In addition, you will earn Referral Zedos points when the Referred Member, within 180 days of clicking on your Referral Link, either (i) makes a booking for the first time, or (ii) subscribes one of our plans.

Zocialite points and Zedos points are collected and redeemed in accordance with our Rewards Terms and Conditions (“Rewards Terms”) and by referring members you are agreeing with our Rewards Terms. There is currently no maximum amount of Referral Zedos that can be earned by a Referring Member.

3.1. First-time bookings

When you refer a member and they make a Booking on the ZeroDegrees Platform for the first time, you as the Referring Member will earn a flat amount of 10 Zedos 24 hours after the Booking is complete. Any subsequent bookings that member may make are not eligible for you to earn Referral Zedos points. Reservations are equally not eligible for earning Referral Zedos points. If the customer cancels the first-time Booking before it takes place or requests a refund after it has taken place, you will not earn Referral Zedos points for that Referred Member. Only applicable to Customers (first-time bookings made by Service Providers are not eligible).

3.2. Subscriptions

When you refer a Service Provider and they (i) subscribe to one of our plans for Professionals or Organisations, and (ii) publish a listing for their business, you as the Referring Member will earn a commission as a percentage of the subscription total which will be converted to Referral Zedos points (rounded down to the nearest integer) and credited to your ZeroDegrees account as soon as the Referred Member completes payment for the subscription. The commission rate that applies to your referral is detailed in section 4 of these Referral Terms.

4. Commission Rate

The commission rate you earn per referral is based on the cumulative Referral Zedos you have accrued up until the time your Referral Link is used. The more your Referred Members make first-time bookings or subscribe to one of our plans, the higher you will progress on the commission rate tiers. The commission rate tiers for Referring Members are as follows:

• Up to 5,000 Referral Zedos: 20% of the subscription total
• Up to 10,000 Referral Zedos: 25% of the subscription total
• Over 10,000 Referral Zedos: 30% of the subscription total

5. Nature of Relationship

You may not represent yourself as an employee, intermediary or agent or as being authorised to bind ZeroDegrees, or give any person any reason to believe, that you are an employee, intermediary or agent of ZeroDegrees. You acknowledge and agree that your participation in the Program does not create any employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, or sales representative relationship with us or our affiliates. You may not create materials (including email addresses, websites or business cards) containing our branding or implying any affiliation or agency relationship between you and ZeroDegrees.

6. Marketing Activities

Referrals may only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may only share your Referral Links with your personal connections who have given you their consent to be contacted. You agree and represent that you will respect the privacy of others and that you will not send unsolicited marketing messages, i.e., “spam” anyone with Referral Links. This includes mass emailing, texting or messaging people you do not know or using automated systems or bots through any channel to distribute your Referral Link. Members must not pay to advertise their Referral Links, nor publish or distribute them on commercial websites (such as coupon websites, Reddit, or Wikipedia).

Referring Members are considered the sender of any marketing communication they initiate and are therefore responsible for following applicable marketing and telecommunications law requirements.

ZeroDegrees may make available to Referring Members marketing collateral to be used at the Members’ discretion and strictly as authorized by ZeroDegrees. ZeroDegrees is the sole owner of any marketing collateral made available. Members’ use of collateral is subject to any branding guidelines or instructions we provide. Members may not modify the collateral or remove any ZeroDegrees logos, branding, links or identifiers.

You agree that you will not set up accounts, create listings, or prepare listing content on behalf of Referred Service Providers and that you will not be eligible for earning Referral Zedos points if you are in breach of these Terms.

7. Warranties

You represent and warrant that: (i) you have all necessary rights, permissions, licenses and consents to participate in this Program, (ii) you have no pre-existing obligations or commitments (and will not undertake any obligations or commitments) that would be in conflict or inconsistent with your obligations under this Agreement, (iii) you will fully comply at all times with all applicable laws and (iv) you will not infringe on any third-party rights, including ZeroDegrees rights.

8. Indemnity

You will indemnify, and are responsible and liable for, and will defend ZeroDegrees (at ZeroDegrees’s option) and hold ZeroDegrees harmless from and against, any and all demands, disputes, claims, damages, liabilities, losses, expenses and costs (including reasonable fees and expenses of attorneys and other professionals) arising out of or resulting from your acts or omissions in relation to this Program, including your negligence, misconduct, violations of law, or any allegation or claim that your content or marketing materials violate or infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of a third party.

9. Exclusion and Limitation of Liability

In no event will ZeroDegrees be liable for any special, incidental, punitive, exemplary or consequential damages of any kind in connection with these Referral Terms, even if ZeroDegrees has been informed in advance of the possibility of such damages. In no event will ZeroDegrees aggregate liability to you in connection with this Program exceed the aggregate amount of Referral Zedos credited to your ZeroDegrees account in accordance with these Referral Terms.

10. Severability

If any provision in these terms is found to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions, which will continue to apply. Any provision which is found to be invalid will be replaced with a provision that comes as close as possible to the purpose of the invalid provision.

11. Termination

ZeroDegrees may terminate this Referral Program or a member’s ability to participate in it at any time and for any reason, without liability. The rights and obligations of the parties under these Terms will survive the expiration or termination of this Agreement.

12. Changes to these Referral Terms

ZeroDegrees reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, at any time and for any reason, modify, discontinue or suspend any requirements or benefits in these Referral Terms, by posting an update on this page. By continuing to refer new Members, you agree that these Referral Terms are acceptable to you and binding on you. If the modified Terms are not acceptable to you, your only recourse is to terminate your participation in this Program.
